Dr. Xuemei Zhao graduated at the top of her class from the University of the Pacific, receiving her D.D.S. degree from Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco in 2004. She was inducted into the Tau Kappa Omega Dental Honor Society and was awarded the Dean’s Salutatorian Award. Upon graduation, she focused her practice on caring for the needs of children for 7 years until joining Super Smiles in 2011. She is dedicated to providing quality dental care in the most caring and gentle manner.
Dr. Xuemei has a strong academic background, rich clinical experience, and international acclaim for her medical research. She obtained her first D.D.S. degree and Ph.D degree when she was in China from Sichuan University, Huaxi College of Stomatology in 1987 and 1992. She came to the United States in 1995 and conducted dental science and medical research at UMKC School of Dentistry and University of Kansas Medical Center for several years. She has over 30 publications in national and international medical journals.
Dr. Xuemei volunteers at OKMOM and the mobile dental clinic. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, Oklahoma Dental Association, and Tulsa County Dental Society. She attends numerous continuing education courses each year to stay current on new technology and materials in dentistry.
Dr. Xuemei is a committee member of the Chinese American Association of Tulsa, and is fluent in both Chinese and English. During her spare time, she likes to dance. She performs Chinese folk dance and bellydance at SummerStage, Mayfest, Oktoberfest, Chinese New Year Gala, and other cultural events. She also enjoys writing poetry. Her metrical poetry has been published in numerous Chinese books and journals.
Dr. Xuemei has a loving family. Her husband is a culinary chef who specializes in Sichuan cuisine. Her son is a senior in high school and an accomplished pianist. He performed at Carnegie Hall in the summer of 2016, after winning second place in the American Protégé International Piano & Strings Competition.
